Arab visitors are welcomed in Istanbul that is one of the world’s most visited cities in the world with numbers reaching approximately 1.3 million in the first 7 months of 2015.
According to data of Istanbul’s Culture and Tourism Directorate, almost 20% of the 7 million-plus visitors to this big city consist of Arab tourists and this fact has helped their market share double from 10% of the total in 2010.
It is observed that Saudi Arabians have topped the list with 254,825 visitors to Istanbul during the first seven months and this list is followed by 198,425 Iraqis and 161,526 Syrians. Istanbul has been visited by 1.5 million people in July only and this number will likely to increase until the end of 2015.
This research also shows that Arabs have purchased the most property in Istanbul as well. In spite of Turkey’s geo-political issues, the economy of Istanbul continues to grow bigger and this grow can be seen clearly in the real estate market of Istanbul. Besides, Turkey has become a popular holiday destination in the recent years and this popularity is supported by visitor numbers that have reached up to 36.8 million in 2014.
